A Little Time Away

It's been almost a week since I posted any new Temple images. Aside from my car being stolen, my checking account and overdraft protection being ripped off, and a three-day kayak trip to Lake Powell, I have no good excuse for neglecting this blog.
I hope nobody is too upset these aren't Temple images, but I thought you might enjoy a little variety. I had high hopes for some great images on this trip. I had a brand-new, completely waterproof camera backpack, so I took my medium format system and tripod, hoping for some serious landscape photo opportunities. Early on the second day, my camera jammed and I wasn't able to fix it. It got a little frustrating carrying around 40+ pounds of useless photo gear. Luckily, I had my wife's tiny 5 megapixel digital point-and-shoot camera. Not fancy, but it's better than nothing.
The first image is looking across the lake at Gunsight Butte from near Labyrinth Canyon. The second is a detail shot of the walls inside Labyrinth Canyon. It had flooded only a few days earlier and was scrubbed pretty clean.
